Lucknow: To ensure efficient treatment for critically ill patients, King George’s Medical University (KGMU) has deployed five casualty medical officers at its Trauma Centre. These officers will oversee patient care in the trauma casualty and other departments, addressing the challenges faced by over 550 patients daily.
Previously, only two CMOs were responsible for managing these duties. However, with the growing patient load, providing timely care became increasingly difficult. To resolve this issue, five additional CMOs have been appointed.
According to spokesperson KK Singh, the trauma casualty department is further supported by 42 non-PG junior residents. Each shift is managed by 10 surgical and 10 medicine residents to ensure effective treatment. “This initiative aims to streamline patient services and minimise delays in treatment,” he added.
