The family of the 31-year-old trainee doctor, who was raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, shared their traumatic experience, revealing they were initially misled to believe their daughter had died by suicide.

On Tuesday, the Calcutta High Court transferred the investigation of the rape and murder case to the CBI, citing “serious lapses” by the hospital administration and noting the lack of substantial progress in the case even after five days.
