Shimla: Himachal Pradesh’s Industry Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan announced on Wednesday that the state government aims to complete the Bulk Drug Park by March 31, 2026.
Addressing the media, Chauhan assured that the project is advancing rapidly in line with Union government guidelines.
Answering Congress legislator Kewal Singh Pathania’s query in the Assembly about the Bulk Drug Park’s status, Chauhan explained that the project, approved for Himachal Pradesh in October 2022, faced delays due to the elections.
“However, the state has secured Rs 275 crore from the Union government and initiated necessary formalities, including environmental clearances. The project will require significant investments in water, land widening, and electricity infrastructure, with funds already allocated accordingly,” said the minister.
A massive project worth Rs 1,000 crore is underway to establish a state-of-the-art drug manufacturing facility in the Haroli assembly segment of Una district.
Spanning a whopping 570 hectares, this mega facility is set to revolutionize the way medicines are produced in India. The project promises to bring cutting-edge technology, employment opportunities, and a boost to the local economy. (ANI)
