An automotive content creator from Hyderabad has irked the internet after he made an attempt to light a cigarette from the exhaust of a luxury car – a Porsche 718 Cayman. Asad Khan documented his experiment in a video that has garnered over 1 million views on Instagram, but the internet is far from impressed.

“What is the better way to light a cigarette? PS: I don’t smoke. Smoking is injurious to health. Featuring Porsche 718 Cayman in Racing Yellow shade,” Khan said in the caption of his post.

What Khan did in the short clip left social media users appalled. He stood behind the car which was possibly in neutral gear and being revved up. When this is done, unburnt gases are emitted out of the exhaust causing a momentary flame in front of which Khan held a cigarette in a bid to light it up.

As a result of this experiment, Khan had a narrow escape from a possible accident – not only did the cigarette catch fire, but he almost got injured.

Several sections of the internet were furious and lashed out at Khan in the comments section. One of the users asked him to add a disclaimer warning people that “such acts shouldn’t be replicated.”

“It might be a better way to light a cigarette and your hand too,” a comment reads. Some users also slammed Khan, saying that he doesn’t “understand basic physics.”

Asad Khan’s story serves as a cautionary tale, underscoring the importance of valuing safety over spectacle and highlighting the need for a more thoughtful approach to social media fame.
