The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the schedule for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 on Sunday, August 18 which is to be played in Malaysia. The tournament will get underway from January 18 with the final scheduled on February 2.
A total of 16 teams will be participating in the event which have been divided into four groups of four teams each. Fans will get to witness 41 enthralling matches played within a span of 16 days across four venues promising an action packed cricketing calendar.
Ahead of the competition, 16 warm up fixtures will also be played from 13 to 16 January to help the teams prepare for the main event. Hosts Malaysia will be marking their first appearance in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup while Samoa will be making their debut in an ICC World Cup event. Defending champions India have been put in Group A alongside West Indies, Sri Lanka and Malaysia and will start their campaign against West Indies on January 19.
The tournament will witness six matches played on the opening day on January 18 with Australia vs England, England vs Ireland and Samoa vs Africa Qualifier fixtures kicking off the tournament simultaneously.
India to play Semi final 2 if qualified
Top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six stage where they will be further divided into two groups of six teams each. Teams finishing in top three in Group A and Group D will form one Super Six group while the top three teams of Group B and Group C will form the other group. Teams will also carry forward their points and net run rates from the group stage into super six. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
If India qualify for the semi-finals, they will play Semi-Final 2. The Women in Blue will be eager to defend their title after they won the inaugural edition of the tournament held in South Africa in 2023 with a seven-wicket win over England in the finals.
A reserve day has also been scheduled for all knockout fixtures with February 1 serving as a reserve day for both semi finals while the final has a reserve day on February 3. Earlier, Thailand was supposed to be the co-hosts of the event alongside Malaysia but their withdrawal made Malaysia the sole host of the event.

Group A – India (A1), West Indies (A2), Sri Lanka (A3) and Malaysia (A4), playing at Bayuemas Oval in Selangor.
Group B – England (B1), Pakistan (B2), Ireland (B3) and USA (B4) playing at Dato’ Dr. Harjit Singh Johor Cricket Academy (JCA Oval), Johor.
Group C – New Zealand (C1), South Africa (C2), Africa’s Qualifier (C3) and Samoa (C4) and playing at Borneo Cricket Ground, Sarawak.
Group D – Australia (D1), Bangladesh (D2), Asia’s Qualifier (D3) and Scotland (D4) and playing at UKM YSD Oval in Selangor.
