HYDRABAD: As part of efforts to speed up the claims settlement process for those affected by the recent floods in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance said it has simplified the process with only three basic documents required to be submitted to raise claims.
This will include claims covered under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY).
The insurer said those raising claims need to only submit the bank account number with IFSC code or copy of a cancelled cheque of the bank account, death certificate issued by local municipal authorities or the list of deceased issued by hospitals, government authorities or police in case the death certificate is not available.
The third document required is a copy of valid KYC documents such as PAN Card or Form 60 along with a recent photograph and one of the officially valid documents such as Aadhaar card, passport, driving licence, voter id, NREGA job card or letter issued by the National Population Register.
ICICI Prudential Life Insurance also said that claimants can also raise their claims via email, SMS or the insurer’s website.
Amish Banker, COO, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, said: “We will settle all death claims arising due to this tragedy quickly and on the basis on three basic documents. Claims is the moment of truth for us, and we are committed to delivering on the promises we make to our customers. This is reflected in our industry-leading claim settlement ratio of 99.35 per cent in Q1-FY25 with an average claim settlement turnaround time of just 1.21 days.”
