A father reunited with his long-lost son in Hyderabad 12 years after he had gone missing. The breakthrough in the missing persons case was brought about as the Karkhana Police in Hyderabad was executing Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) related to a 2019 criminal case.
Arman Alam, the missing person who reunited with his father in Hyderabad, was one of the four accused against whom police had received NBWs in the 2019 case filed under sections 395 and 411 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Special teams were deployed to apprehend the accused. On August 12, Arman Alam, Akshay Chandra Shekar Surya Vamshi, alias Yaba, Deepak Yadav, and Bommakanti Pradeep Goud were arrested.
During police questioning, Alam confessed to his involvement in multiple criminal cases across Hyderabad, all involving serious charges under Section 307 of the IPC.
To the Hyderabad Police’s surprise, Arman Alam turned out to be the son of Chiman Rao Lachayya Alam, a retired Lance Naik from Maharashtra, who had filed a missing persons case after his son had gone missing from home in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
Following a disagreement with his father over his smoking habits, Alam, who was only 12 years old at the time, had left home and travelled to Secunderabad by train.
Upon verification by the police in Aheri, Maharashtra, the details provided by Alam were confirmed. A video call facilitated by the police allowed Alam’s father to identify him as his long-lost son.
After spending more than a decade apart, the family was subsequently reunited at the Karkhana Police Station.
Alam and Yadav at Dwarakapuri Colony in Qutbullapur. The police received critical information about the whereabouts of the accused from a rowdy local, Baghya Raj, associated with Chilkalguda Police Station, who was also a surety in the case.
Notably, the other accused in the 2019 case, Deepak Yadav, originally from Bihar, and Bommakanti Pradeep Goud, from Nizamabad, were also involved in multiple criminal cases in Hyderabad, including robbery and theft.
Akshay Chandra Shekar Surya Vamshi, also known as Yaba, died due to ill health.
The successful execution of these NBWs and the resolution of the long-standing missing person case were lauded by Hyderabad’s Commissioner of Police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Zone, Hyderabad, S Rashmi Perumal, IPS, praised the team’s dedication, stating that the reunion of a missing family member after 12 years was a remarkable achievement, bringing much-needed relief to the family.
