A massive fire broke out at a chemical factory in Hyderabad’s Puranapul area on Tuesday. No casualties were reported in the incident.

The blaze at Swastik Supply Company and Decorations, which initially appeared under control, reignited multiple times due to the explosion of chemical barrels stored in the premises of the factory.

One person who was inside the factory was alerted by his friend, as he ran out before the factory was engulfed in fire. The police reached the spot and informed the Hyderabad fire department about the incident.

Five fire engines arrived at the spot, and they could bring the blaze under control after putting in efforts for over two hours.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained as the authorities have begun their investigation into the cause of the fire.

Locals raised concerns over the safety of such industrial operations in proximity to the residential areas. The residents have also highlighted the need for stricter regulations and a better emergency response mechanism.

A school uniform outlet and a restaurant were completely gutted when a major fire erupted at a marketplace in east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar on Sunday night. The blaze spread over the commercial complex situated in Pocket-B of Mayur Vihar Phase-II.

At least 25 fire tenders were rushed to the spot by the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) department as soon as they received the information, officials added.
