While the National Film Awards include the component of a cash prize, it is interesting to note that at the Oscars, there are no monetary awards. The nominees, along with the ceremony’s host, receive goodie bags. These consist of luxurious items, vacations, cosmetics, and much more, costing several thousand dollars. At the Oscars this year, the goodie bag was reportedly worth over $170,000. Reuters reported that the bag included a $50,000 trip to a luxury chalet in the Swiss Alps.
