On August 9, doctors and medical students at RML Hospital staged a protest, demanding a CBI investigation into the sexual assault and murder of a woman post-graduate trainee (PGT) doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

The incident has sparked outrage across the medical community.

In response, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has called for a nationwide shutdown of OPD services starting today, August 13, to press for justice in the case.

The protest is part of a larger movement by healthcare professionals demanding accountability and stricter measures to ensure the safety of medical staff.
