New Zealand women’s cricketer Xara Jetly was awestruck with the aura that Indian batter Virat Kohli brings. The 22-year-old recently featured in a podcast where she talked about her aspirations to bowl to Kohli. While she had trouble picking a batter from the women’s game, she did not hesitate in naming Kohli from men’s cricket.
Xara, who plays for Wellington Blaze in New Zealand’s domestic cricket, also said that she dreams of clicking a picture with Kohli, which she can share on her Instagram handle.
“Yeah, this is really basic for me. I’d bowl to…the women’s game is tougher, but in the men’s game, I wanna bowl to Virat Kohli. If I could take a photo with Virat Kohli and put it on Instagram, that would be the GOAL,” Xara said on the ‘Fine Legs — The Cricket Podcast’.
Later, Xara also mentioned her dreams on social media while commenting on a post. “Virat Kohli and I will definitely get an instagram worthy picture together – mark my words!” Xara wrote on Instagram.

Xara played a crucial role in Wellington winning the previous edition of the Women’s Super Smash. The Blaze beat Canterbury by 1 run (DLS) in the final at the Eden Park in Auckland.
In 10 matches, she picked up nine wickets at an economy rate of 5.59 with a three-wicket haul to her name. In the One Day competition where Wellington finished as the runners-up, Xara was on top of her game.
In 11 matches, Xara picked up 17 wickets at an economy rate of 3.71. Yet to play for the White Ferns, the young bowler will be looking to break into the national team at the earliest.
As far as Kohli is concerned, he recently retired from T20Is after India won the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the West Indies.
