Passport Seva alert! If you are looking to apply for a passport appointment online, or have an appointment scheduled for August 30, 2024, then be aware of the scheduled maintenance activity. The government has announced that the Passport Seva portal will be undergoing scheduled technical maintenance starting from 8:00 PM IST on Thursday, August 29, 2024, until 6:00 AM IST on Monday, September 2, 2024.
During this period, the application process, appointment bookings, and other related services will be temporarily disrupted.
“Passport Seva portal will be down for technical maintenance from 29th August 2024, Thursday 20:00 hrs IST to 2nd September, Monday 06:00 hrs IST. System will not be available during this period for citizens and for all MEA/RPO/BOI/ISP/DoP/Police Authorities,” the Ministry of External Affairs has said.
Throughout the maintenance period, citizens and various authorities, including the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Regional Passport Offices (RPO), Bureau of Immigration (BOI), India Security Press (ISP), Department of Posts (DoP), and the Police, will be unable to access the system.
According to the notice, applicants who have already scheduled appointments for Friday, August 30, 2024, will have their appointments rescheduled. They will be notified of the new dates and times as soon as possible. “The already booked appointments for 30th August 2024 will be suitably rescheduled and informed to applicants,” the government has said.
The Passport Seva portal, a crucial platform for Indian citizens seeking passport-related services, is extensively used for applying for new passports, renewing existing ones, and tracking application status.
