Rahul Chaudhari remained unsold after failing to attract any bids on the second day of the Pro Kabaddi League 2024 auction held in Mumbai. The raider from Uttar Pradesh was a key player for the Jaipur Pink Panthers during PKL season nine, contributing to their title win over the Puneri Paltan in the final. Chaudhari made his debut in the inaugural season with the Telugu Titans, where he played for six consecutive seasons.
His standout performance came in PKL season four, where he scored 146 raid points, the highest of that season, and led the Titans to the semifinals. Despite their loss in the semifinals, Chaudhari impressed with a 14-point haul in that match. In the lead-up to PKL’s sixth season, the Titans reacquired him for a substantial sum of Rs. 1.29 crore. The following season, Chaudhari joined the Tamil Thalaivas for Rs. 94 lakh.
Ahead of the new season, Chaudhari had stated in an interview that he plans to retire after the campaign.
Apart from Chaudhari, Deepak Niwas Hooda, Vishal Bhardwaj and Surender Nada also went unsold during the auction which has come to an end on August 16, Friday.
Ajith V Kumar and Jai Bhagwan shines in Category C
Ajith V Kumar became the most expensive player in Category C in this year’s Player Auction after he was acquired by Puneri Paltan for INR 66 lakh, meanwhile, Jai Bhagwan was bought by Bengaluru Bulls for INR 63 Lakh.
Arjun Rathi emerged as the most expensive player in Category D after he was acquired by Bengal Warriorz for INR 41 Lakh. Furthermore, Mohd. Amaan found a place in the Puneri Paltan team for INR 16.2 lakh and Stuwart Singh was bought for INR 14.2 lakh by U Mumba.
A total of 118 players were sold during the PKL season 11 auction over the last two days. 8 players had gone past the 1 crore mark in the auction, which was a first in the history of the league.
Sachin Tanwar emerged as the costliest person during the PKL season 11 auction, as he was bought by Tamil Thalaivas for 2.15 crore.
