Actor Shah Rukh Khan staying up late into the night is a fact his millions of fans are well aware of. But did you know that the actor eats only one meal during the day or that he never skips the gym, even if it means only a half-hour workout session? In a recent interview, Shah Rukh discussed his daily routine.
Shah Rukh told The Guardian that he only eats one meal a day, not because he is following intermittent fasting, but because it is his personal choice.
He added, “I go to sleep at five in the morning. When Mark Wahlberg (American actor) gets up, I go off to sleep. And then I wake up about nine or 10 if I’m shooting. But then I will come home at 2 am, take a bath, and then work out before I go to sleep.”
During the same interview, the 55-year-old actor also spoke about being an “athlete” when he entered the Indian film industry. He also harboured the dream of becoming an action hero during his initial days of acting.
“When I came into the industry, I was an athlete. My life’s dream was to have a six-pack, wear a white vest, have a lady with my arm around her, blood on my face, and a gun in my hand. My dream was to enter a room, someone says: ‘Who are you?’ and I shoot them,” shared Shah Rukh.
Shah Rukh Khan was recently honoured with the Pardo Alla Carriera award at the 77th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. Speaking about his love for awards and award ceremonies, SRK joked, “I enjoy it. I am very shameless about this. I love getting awards. I love the ceremony.”
However, at international award ceremonies, Shah Rukh Khan gets “nervous” as he has to control his “humour” and represent Indian cinema. “I have to be on my best behaviour. Because cinema for India is such an important thing,” the actor said.
Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s King, which he officially confirmed at the Locarno Film Festival. His daughter Suhana Khan is expected to join him in the film, which will feature Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist.
