Star Pakistan batter Babar Azam got hurt in the nets while preparing for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. Notably, Pakistan will take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series beginning from August 21 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.
Ahead of the series, Pakistan are sweating hard in the nets as they prepare to turn things around after a disappointing T20 World Cup 2024. Babar Azam was also seen wielding his willow ahead of the crucial series as he faced seamer Khurram Shahzad in the nets.
However, the former skipper was hit one his abdomen during the session which left him in serious pain as he immediately got down on his haunches. Babar’s dismal run in Tests since 2023
The 29-year-old hasn’t been in the best of forms since 2023 in Test cricket having scored 253 runs from 11 innings at an average of 23 with no half centuries to his name. The former skipper was bestowed with the Sir Garfield Sobers trophy for being adjudged the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2022 but has failed to live up to his standards since then.
The Lahore-born cricketer will be eager to turn things around in the upcoming series against Bangladesh as Pakistan aim to earn crucial World Test Championship (WTC) points. Meanwhile, Bangladesh have arrived in Pakistan four days in advance to prepare for the series due to the ongoing political turmoil in their country. The two Tests will be played in Rawalpindi and Karachi as both teams aim to start a packed Test calendar on a positive note.
