A total of 12 people were arrested in connection with the vandalism at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata in the wee hours of Thursday.

The ‘Reclaim the Night’ protest in Kolkata witnessed chaotic scenes as a mob entered the hospital where a trainee doctor was raped and murdered.

All those arrested were produced in a court and were sent to police custody till August 22.

Kolkata Police, in a post on X, clarified that the crime scene of the brutal rape and murder of the doctor was not been disturbed during the violence.
