The Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) 2024 is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, August 21 to Thursday, August 29. Barbados Royals, Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors are the three participating teams in the tournament.

Shikha Pandey and Jemimah Rodrigues are the Indian players in the championship. Both will represent the Knight Riders, who failed to qualify for the final last time around. Jhulan Goswami was named as their mentor while World Boss Deandra Dottin is their skipper. Meg Lanning, who recently won the Hundred Women title with the London Spirit, is a part of the Knights.

The Royals and the Amazon Warriors will face each other in the opening match of the tournament. Jemimah and Shikha are likely to be in action when the Knights and the Royals will lock horns at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad. On Monday, the Indian trio reached the West Indies. Jemimah also shared a picture in the TKR jersey.

Shreyanka Patil, who became the first Indian in the WCPL last season while playing for the Amazon Warriors, won’t play this season. Shreyanka, who also was the top wicket-taker in WCPL 2023, is currently recovering from a finger injury that she sustained during the Women’s Asia Cup.

The Royals are the defending champions after beating the Amazon Warriors by eight runs in a thrilling final at the Brian Lara Stadium.
